Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms that read my blog!! And to those of you who may just have fur babies like I do! We're mommies too in our own little way :)

Mother's Day is a bit awkward for me now, since my mom passed away almost 3 years ago. Gosh, I can't believe it's already been almost 3 years!! That's just insane to think about. But anyway, about the awkwardness. As bad as it is to say it, since I don't have any children yet, Mother's Day is really just another day to me now. I don't really celebrate it or do anything special for it. It's just another holiday to get through without my mom. The awkward part is when people don't know my mom is gone. One year, I was training for work at Publix on Mother's Day. The HR woman kept saying, "I'm sorry we have to keep you here, I know it's Mother's Day and all." Today, I'm meeting up with someone to sell some of my wedding stuff I don't need, and she said, "I hope we can still meet today, I know it's Mother's Day, so it's fine if we can't!" What am I supposed to say to that? "Oh, it's okay, my mom's dead!" It's just awkward and it's always kind of bothered me. I guess since I'm 21, and was 19 when my mom died, it's not the "typical" age for one to be without a mother, so no one really expects it. I just usually grin and bear it and act like I'm not an exception.

On another note, I am learning how to coupon and I love it!! I think I'm going to keep track of my savings each week and then post once a week with them! If anyone has any coupon tips, sites or anything like that, please share!!
