Rainy Days and Mondays Always Get Me Down.

Just so happens to be both. What a bummer. In case you don't know what the title of this blog is referring to...

Kind of in a super blah mood today. It started yesterday when our ideal mini "honeymoon" plans pretty much got shot down completely. I had just gotten off the phone with the hotel and booked our reservations. Then Brandon came home and we got to talking about money. Since he got a ticket for an expired tag the other day, that's $200 coming out of our budget that was pretty unexpected. So with Brandon taking off extra days for us to go somewhere after the wedding, and us spending like $550 out of our pockets to go, it would leave us short on our bill money. I was SO upset. I dunno if guys really understand how much women put into wedding planning, but I was definitely looking forward to 4 days at the beach, with my husband, uninterrupted by the rest of the world. After all the wedding planning plus school stress, I was so excited for that little break. And everyone says just save up and do something later...but I want it to seem like a honeymoon. If it's not after the wedding, it'll just be a trip. Which will be nice, but not the same. :( So I'm still pretty bummed about that. We're trying to work something out. Maybe cutting it a day short or something. Hopefully it'll all work out.

This morning kinda sucked too. Brandon woke up late for work, meaning I was abruptly woken up to him freaking out, which freaked me out because I thought something was wrong. Pleasant way to start the day! lol So then I laid back down for a few minutes, then got up, printed out my paper that was "due" this morning. I'll get to the " " in a second. Got dressed, got my shoes on, bout to head out the door ready to start my day, and I, by the grace of God, thought I'd check my email....only to find out the class was cancelled. Ugh. That's a 10:00 class, and I have one right after at 11:00, and that one takes attendance. So, I kicked my shoes off and once again laid back down for a few minutes. Not really long enough to fall asleep. So I could have slept from like 8:30 to 10:30 but nooo. And that really irritates me. Lol, I like my sleep :) Especially when I couldn't fall asleep last night because I was in a pissy mood.

On another sad and whiney note, I just watched Carrie Underwood's new video and it made me cry. It would be perfect to have at the wedding [12 days away!], if my mom were going to be there. :(

I'm going to try to make it to Zumba after my Microbio class this afternoon, so hopefully that'll put me in a better mood. Or I'll fall and break a foot or something and just add to today's wonderfulness. I guess we'll see! Hope you're having a better day than me! :)

I'm still here!

I feel like it's been forever since I posted something! Things have just gotten really busy around here lately, so I haven't had time to post anything. It's T-minus 18 days and counting until the wedding, so you can imagine the insanity! Brandon had drill this past weekend so I went and visited my dad and aunt and got a good bit done! We got all the favors put together which ended up being quite a task! It was a tedious process and I'll just say I'm glad I only have ~75 guests. Haha. I also had two tests last week and a big project that was supposed to be due this week, but has gotten put off. So I've been busy studying and stuff too! The tests went well though! 89 on one and 86 on the other - a BIG change from how my last semesters have gone! The wonders of not doubling up on science classes! I am SO glad I got most of the big wedding things done during the summer because I definitely would not have time to do it now. That's for sure! I haven't even shopped for a ball dress yet because I've been so wrapped up in wedding things! I am getting SO excited for the wedding and I think things should go really well. That's pretty much all that's been going on though. I'm doing bridal pictures and my hair trial Friday and I have my sister-in-law's baby shower Saturday! I'm super excited about both of those! Things are getting down to the wireee! I'll keep y'all updated on how things go! :)

Friday Fives: Remembering 9/11

This week's Friday Five is a bit different than usual. This week's topic is 5 Things We Remember About 9/11. It's a more serious topic that I think is interesting to address. We all know September 11th, 2001 changed us as a nation and impacted us all. But how? To see everyone else's responses, head over to Just Me and My Life... and check it out.

1. Where I Was
I was 12 years old when the attacks happened. I was in my 7th grade science class, taught by my favorite teacher to this day, Mrs. Anderson. I was about to take a test on Cells when the social studies teacher came in and told my teacher what had happened. A girl in our grade had just gotten to school that day from going to the dentist or something (isn't it crazy how you remember such specific things?) and she had informed the social studies teacher. I had no idea what the World Trade Center was, never heard of the Twin Towers. After the test, we turned on the TV and watched it for the rest of class. For the rest of the day, we didn't do anything in any class, and just went from room to room watching the televisions. Some kids parents even picked them up from school.

2. Disbelief
At 12 years old, I honestly don't think I fully understood what had happened. Not yet at least. I understood that these people called "Terrorists" had flown into the buildings, killing thousands of people. But it just bewildered me that something like this was even happening. At that point in my life, this didn't happen to us in real life. It was the kind of thing you read about and learn about in history classes. But it was real and it was happening.

3. Television
I became obsessed with watching the news. Seeing the videos over and over again of the planes flying in to the buildings blew my 12 year old mind. That was my first time seeing unadulterated, real life destruction. Not a natural disaster tearing up a town, but humans doing this to other humans. I video taped all the footage from that night and the subsequent days after. I haven't watched them sense, I don't believe, but to me at the time, it was important to keep them.

4. Patriotism
Flags everywhere, bumper stickers, anywhere you could stick a flag, it was stuck. Now at 21 and being a Marine Corps fiancee, I still have my share of patriotic items, but such is not the case with the general public. The flags on cars have been replaced by sports teams. But for a period of time after the attacks, there was a definite sense of banning together and being an indestructible nation again.

5. Faces
This might be one not-typical thing to remember, but I remember everyone talking about the "faces in the smoke". Weird images of demons or God knows what "appeared" in the smoke coming from the buildings. At 12 years old, that's pretty freaking scary. lol

Marriage Tales

I found a new weekly post to do! I love this one! You just post anything cute! And who doesn't like something cute? This week, I'm showcasing my purrbaby, Charlie!

And...double cuteness! Brandon and Charlie!

Friday Five! 9/3

It's Friday Five time! This week's topic is 5 Things Always in Your Fridge. I figured I'd start out by showing you our lovely fridge. Note pad (almost out!), cards, coupons, magnets, niece and nephew's artwork...that's about it! But what's always inside it?

1. Charlie!
He's a smart kitty. He knows this is where is good, mushy food is kept and EVERY time you open the door, he runs to it! I took this picture when I opened it to take the rest of the pictures.

2. Pickles
The fiance can't live without them! He can eat pickles everyyy day and never get tired of them!

3. Soda of some sort
I prefer diet, but Brandon got these so I will drink water instead!

4. Milk
I loveee cereal, so I gotta have my milk! Drinking plain white milk grosses me out, unless it's accompanied by chocolate!

5. Ice cream or popsicles!
Can't forget the freezer! Some frozen treat is always in ours!
That's it for this week! So head over to Just Me and My Life... and see what's in everybody else's!
