Friday 5! 10/29

It's Friday 5 time! Head over to Just Me and My Life... to see everyone else's answers!

1. What's your go-to recipe?
I like really simple recipes that don't take 23 ingredients to make. I'm a college student, so quick and easy is my way to go! See one of my favorite recipes here.

2. When you hear American Food, what comes to mind?
Burgers! They're everywhere!

3. What would you say is one of your weirdest quirks?
I hate squishy things. I have a serious texture problem with food. It's gotten better since I've got older but a lot of stuff still freaks me out. Grapes, oranges, bananas, collard greens...things of that nature!
4. What color do you mainly wear?
Probably a combo of red, black and white. Going to UGA for 2 years, I got a lot of UGA apparel added to my clothes line!

5. Always have to say everything on your mind or never speak again?
Say it all! Honesty is the best policy, and I couldn't imagine never speaking again!

Thursday Five. 10/28

It's that time again! It's been a while since I did a Thursday Five so since everything is calming down around here, here goes! Here are things this week that have made me...

Giggly

Snuggly

Thankful

Excited

GLEE!

1. We went shopping the other day with our wedding gift cards! I love shopping, especially when it doesn't cost me anything! We got 650 thread count sheets on clearance at BB&B and they are amazing.

2. It's been rainy and icky the last couple days, which sucks when I have to go out. But it's perfect candle lighting, book reading, snuggle on the couch with hubby and Charlie weather!

3. I keep hearing of Marines losing their lives in combat and it just makes me ever more thankful that mine is safe at home with me. Truly thankful.

4. I registered for classes Tuesday! I wouldn't normally be excited about classes, but my schedule rocks. Pharmacology, Nutrition, Human Sexuality and Intro to Health Ed. The upside - I only have class 3 days a week and I have a 3 day weekend every week. I'm so going to get spoiled.

5. I haven't mentioned it yet on here, but my new baby nephew was born on October 17th! He was 5 weeks early, but thankfully, the only problem they've had is jaundice. He is absolutely adorable and I'm so excited he's here!!
Here is Mitch about 4 days old! He's sportin' a hat I crocheted!

Fall Favorites Swap Package!

Since I missed the Summer Essential's Swap at Flip Flops and Combat Boots, I knew I had to take part in the Fall Favorites Swap! I was excited to see the blog about it when Nicole posted it last month and signed up right away! I got paired with Robyn at Adventures in Abby Land. I love her blog and actually won a giveaway on it! :)

I got my packages this week, which was a nice treat to come back from our honeymoon too! Especially since it ended up being quite a rough week school wise! The first week coming back from vacation usually sucks. lol. Buttt I was super excited when the mailman came twice with a package for me! And seeing a box from Kohl's is always exciting! My packages contained a really good smelling pumpkin spice candle in an adorableee pumpkin jar! Perfect for decorating the apartment for Fall! And, since we're newlyweds, my swap parter included a wedding picture frame that says "Just Married" and "Mr. & Mrs." which I absolutely loved!! We got a few picture frames for our wedding, but it's one of my favorites by far! It's too cute! So here are some pictures of my presents! Thank you to Nicole for hosting the swap! I hope there's one for Winter/Christmas, because these are just too fun! And thank you again to Robyn for my presents! I love them!!

Charlie even likes how it smells!

I'm...

MARRIED!!!

In case you haven't noticed the few new changes on the blog, I got married October 9th! That and a few other things (I'll talk about later) are the reason I haven't blogged in forever. The wedding festivities were so much fun! I had a Passion Party done by my friend Brooke and dinner at Carrabbas for my bachelorette party while future hubby spent the night with a toilet. The next day we decorated the church and reception hall and had the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. It was the most stressful day of all, that's for sure. Then Saturday was the wedding! It went pretty well as far as I'm concerned. The only mess ups in the ceremony were the pastor reading the wrong version of 1 Corinthians 13: 4-7 and I forgot my bouquet on the way out! That bummed me out for pictures sake, but oh well. It could have been worse. The reception was really nice and just how I wanted it...except for everyone leaving. I was not happy about that. All that work and people were leaving after like an hour. Even Brandon's groomsmen, but oh well. What's done is done, I guess. Looking back, I wouldn't have worried about everything as much if I'd known it wasn't even going to last that long. That's the only really big thing I was disappointed in. Guess that's what an alcohol free reception goes like though! In the end, we're married! And that's all that matters! We spend Sunday through Thursday honeymooning at Tybee Island and Savannah. I hate being back in school now! It's such a downer. Well, since I've given you a synopsis of the events, I'll leave you with some picture highlights! Enjoy!

My bridesmaids (minus one) and I outside of Carrabbas!
Pre-wedding stress!
Getting my hair fixed before the ceremony!
You may now kiss the bride!
Dancing our first dance! It's a lot more awkward than it looks.
A picture of the reception hall all prettied up!
A few of our professional photos, done by Kristin Benton Photography!

My husband at the beach!
This is where we ate breakfast every morning!

While we were there, I checked an item off my Bucket List! Eating at Lady and Sons!! BEST. FOOD. EVER.
My plate...er, first plate, at dinner! A buffet of Paula Deen's cooking is not good!
And last but not least, we got the waiter to take our pic! :)

It's the Finalll Countdownnnn! *dodadoodoo*

Not counting today since it's 3/4 over...2 days until the wedding!!! Holy moly! I thought these last few weeks would go by so slow since I'm so excited for it and all...wrong! lol It went by SUPER freaking fast. Which is good! But with school and all, I've been struggling to keep up! It's finally here though and we leave tomorrow to go to my hometown to have our bachelor/bachelorette parties! Super excited to see everyone! I'm excited for the fun stuff to actually start and for all that everyone has been working on to finally happen! Like I said before, I've been pretty stressed getting the final things done, so I'm ready to relax and have fun! So I doubt I'll be posting anymore until after the wedding because I'm going to be SUPER busy! But I'll fill y'all in as soon as it all calms down! :) So here's my last post not married! Woo hoo!

Breathe.

I think I've been forgetting to do this lately! Whew. 8 days until the wedding! I'm running all over the place trying to do this and that, here and there. I'm trying not to lose my mind doing it all! I just feel really stressed trying not to forget something! Thankfully, I have a lot of people helping me out and I'm SO appreciative of that. When all is said and done, I'll be married regardless! I can't wait!! We went and got the marriage license today and it made things SO real for me! I'm so excited!!! I'm going back to the homeland to get a few more things done. It's really a pain that the closest Hobby Lobby, Michaels, etc. are like 45 minutes away! I'm delivering an order of cupcakes though, so I'm going to get all that done while I'm up there. Just a few more things here and there to buy. I thought these last few weeks would go slow since I was so excited for it, but they have FLOWN by!! A good thing, but I've felt like it's hard to keep up! lol Basically the point of this post is just to make me realize that I need to calm down, breathe and enjoy it because you only get married once and it's one of the happiest times of your life!! :)
